Tapes are inflexible holders utilized in regular and figured radiography (CR) for the screen film framework and imaging plate separately.
The rear of the tape has an elastic or felt for satisfactory contact between screen film framework or with the imaging plate. The front is made of low nuclear number material (e.g. plastic or carbon) and the back is made of high nuclear number material (e.g. lead) to lessen backscatter.
If there should be an occurrence of ordinary radiography, two screens are mounted on each side of the tape, with the exception of in mammography, where a solitary screen is mounted on the posterior. These tapes need to stacked with film in the darkroom not at all like the tapes utilized in CR which can be stacked with imaging plate in the light.
No tape is utilized in computerized radiography.
